She climbed to city-level after her train arrived. We hadn’t seen in each other in many years. I wanted to see her before she saw me, so I leaned my back cooly against the building and watched her cross the street in a red coat and brown leather boots. She looked nervously around the intersection for me and I smiled uncontrollably. I thought for a second about the way we once knew each other. It felt dizzyingly familiar. Like good news alarm calls waking you up in the morning.
Let’s make a fire.
